Who came, who paid, and who still owes you?

Neem answers that for tutors and hobby teachers, on one phone. Parents get the three answers they'd otherwise message about: when class is, what's due, and whether their payment landed.

5:00PM

Who came today?

Class ends, and the tutor marks the register while packing up: tap who came, one-handed. A cancelled class is recorded as cancelled, not as eight absences.

When's the next class, and what's due?

Meanwhile, Aarav's parent opens Neem instead of messaging the tutor. The next class, this month's fee and what's already been paid are on the first screen.

5:02PM

Who still owes me, and since when?

Neem opens on what the tutor is owed, by whom, and for how long. Fees count toward the month they're for, so March paid in September still settles March.

How do I pay?

At 5:05, Aarav's parent pays in their own UPI app. Neem opens GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or BHIM with the amount filled in. The money goes straight to the tutor and never passes through Neem.

6:15PM

Did the money land?

A parent's tap is a claim, because a UPI app never tells anyone the money moved. Between batches, the tutor checks the account and marks it received. Only then does it count.

Has the tutor got it?

The parent is told as soon as the tutor confirms, and October shows as paid. No screenshot to forward, no "did you get it?"

7:30PM

How do new families find me?

Earlier in the week the tutor posted the class: subject, days, fee and roughly where. Each post is checked by a person before it goes live, and an enquiry arrives as a notice in the app.

Is there a class near us?

Another parent searches by neighbourhood. A class shows as a circle on the map, never a doorstep, because most tutors teach from home. Their enquiry reaches the tutor; the tutor's number is never shown.

8:30PM

What did October earn?

The day's done. Earnings by month, counted for the month they're for, and how much of each has actually landed.

And underneath the evening

For the teacher

  • Students and batches. A student can join several batches, each with its own start date and, if you agree a different rate, its own fee.
  • Children and adults. Under-18s are linked to a parent's phone; adult learners have their own.
  • Your profile. Subjects, years of experience per subject, and qualifications marked as self-declared.

For the parent

  • Schedule and fees for each child, in one place.
  • The teacher's profile: what they teach, and for how long.
  • Find classes in your area, online ones included.

For both

  • No password. You sign in with a code sent on WhatsApp.
  • Records stay apart. No teacher sees another's; a parent sees only what concerns their own child.
  • Light and dark, and it reads well at large font sizes.
