Delete your Neem account
Neem is made by Willful Inheritance. You can delete your account and everything in it, from the app or by writing to us.
This can't be undone. Once your account is deleted, everything in it is erased and can't be recovered, by you or by us.
In the app
- Open Neem and tap your photo or initials at the top.
- Tap My profile.
- Tap Delete account at the bottom, and confirm.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app, email support@willful.in with the subject "Delete my Neem account" and the phone number on the account. We'll check with you on that number that the request is yours, then close the account.
Delete some of your data, and keep your account
You don't have to close your account to remove part of what's in it.
- A class you posted: in the app, open Post a class and tap Take down on the post. It disappears from Find classes at once and is deleted with its photo.
- Anything else (a student, a payment, an enquiry you sent, your profile photo, or a tutor's record that names you): email support@willful.in from any address, with the phone number on your account and what you want removed. We'll check with you on that number that the request is yours, then delete it within 30 days.
Copies in our backups are deleted automatically within 90 days.
What is erased
- Your account: your name, photo, sign-in, and the terms you accepted.
- If you teach: your students, batches, attendance, fees and payments, your profile, and your posts on Find classes with their photos.
- Payment screenshots you uploaded, and your notifications.
What stays, and why
- A tutor's record of you. If a tutor has you down as a parent on a child's record, or as an adult pupil, your name and number stay on that tutor's record as a contact. That record belongs to the tutor, not to your account.
- Payments you told a tutor about stay on the tutor's fee record, without your screenshot.
- Backups. Copies of the database are deleted automatically within 90 days.
- Server logs of visits to our sites (IP address and page, not what's in your account) are kept for 180 days, as Indian law requires.
When
Your account is closed as soon as you confirm in the app, or as soon as we've checked an emailed request. No one can sign in to it from then on. Its data is erased 7 days later, and always within 30. The week is there in case it wasn't you, or you change your mind: write to support@willful.in before then and we can put it back. If you sign up again on the same number before then, the old account is erased at that moment and you start with a new, empty one.
